Universal Time

The current system of time zones is based around the idea of noon being mid-day and midnight being dark. The concept of universal time proposes to eliminate the use of timezones to change time from region-to-region using the same time GMT for all regions on Earth. Presumably this would force society to adjust to different hour-names for the daytime and nighttime hours. Although this might take 1-2 generations to fully take hold, eventually it would create a simpler time system for the ever-shrinking world.
